Classroom

This room was technically the second living room in the back house, but we had no use for two living rooms, so it became very clear very quickly that this would become our classroom for homeschooling. Not everyone needs a classroom, and a lot of homeschooling parents choose to not have one, but we wanted one, and needed a dedicated space. That said, we school outside, in the car, and everywhere in between too, but this is our home base where the majority of school work takes place.

We started by ripping out the awful blue stained carpet.

Bug was a huge help! She helped roll up the carpet, and vacuumed up the mess underneath.

We used the same flooring that we put down in the back kitchen and hallway, which has also since been added to our remodeled bathroom and new pantry, and will eventually be added to the hall closet and hall laundry.

And this my dears is the final product, although we've since added a desk for me, as well as two computers stations for the kiddos to do education.com and minecraft.

Living Room

Next up is the living room. :) This room was honestly, in my opinion pretty beautiful from the start, but it was very very dark. We decided we needed to lighten it up a bit, as well as replace the carpet.

David started by priming the whole room.

In the end we ended up with a very light gray color. Lowes came and pulled out the flooring,

Put down the new padding,

and installed the new carpet.

In the end, we ended up taking out the window that was in the living room, that led to the sunroom prior to the addition, as well as took down the door that leads into the sunroom so that it was more open.

"Red Room"

The first room we'll start with, we referred to as the "Red Room" because of the pinky/red carpeting. This room was once a garage, that had since been enclosed. We decided that this room would become our fitness room! We wanted a place where the kiddos could exercise and run around when weather kept them inside, as well as a place for us to return to pole fitness!

We ripped out all of the carpet and padding. The girls were fantastic helpers!

Once we cleared the room of all the junk, David got to work with sealing cracks and rolling out a garage paint.

The girls loved helping to add the flecks to the paint.

Once the floor was finished, it was just adding the small details like our mirrors,

our fitness equipment,

and of course our pole, balance beam, and trampoline!
